Origin
The Valais vineyards are located on the steep slopes of an alpine valley, which makes mechanical harvesting very difficult. Most of the vines grow on these precipitous slopes. To even out the gradient, many terraces were built that are supported by dry stone walls.

About the wine
Humagne Rouge comes from an old cross made in Aosta Valley between Cornalin and an unknown variety. The wine was introduced in Valais via the Great Saint Bernard pass at the end of the 19th century. Despite its relatively recent arrival, the Humagne Rouge has become, after Cornalin, the second great red wine from Valais with personality and character.
Character
A medium ruby red. Intensive aroma of wild berries, eucalyptus and red cherries. On the palate, fruity and spicy. Smooth, medium-bodied wine with a good tannin structure. Intense fruity finish.
Food pairings
Oven-roasted guinea fowl, game, veal with fried and grated potatoes, horsemeat steak à la Calvados, Alpine macaroni and cheese.

15-17° C.
